Clear Secure Inc. (YOU), announced it will roll out a biometric eGate pilot program at key U.S. airports in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a move that promises to modernize airport security and streamline passenger flow.

The first automated eGates will debut this month at Atlanta (ATL), Washington Reagan (DCA), and Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) airports. The initiative is structured as a public–private partnership with TSA, ensuring that operational oversight remains fully federal while CLEAR funds the investment at no cost to taxpayers. The rollout is designed to ease expected congestion from more than 20 million international visitors during the World Cup and comes just ahead of the U.S.’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

CLEAR’s eGates will work by matching travelers’ live facial images against ID documents and boarding passes, replacing traditional TSA podium checks. While CLEAR provides the infrastructure, TSA retains full authority and operational control, with only limited identity data transmitted through the system.

The expansion highlights CLEAR’s ambition to become a trusted infrastructure layer for secure, reusable identity across industries. Just yesterday, the company announced a partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest hospital network, to streamline patient check-ins and MyChart access through its CLEAR1 identity platform. Hackensack will be the first in the Tri-State area to deploy the system, with launches expected at its flagship cancer center and other facilities.
