EVgo Inc. (NASDAQ: EVGO), in collaboration with General Motors and Pilot Company, announced today the activation of over 130 electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging locations across more than 25 U.S. states — a significant milestone for the national highway charging network they began building in 2022.

The expanding network offers high-speed charging access at Pilot and Flying J travel centers strategically located along popular interstates and travel corridors, including routes like I-75 from Michigan to Georgia, and regional connections from Detroit to Cleveland and Dallas to Nashville.

With the spring break and summer travel season approaching, EV drivers will benefit from convenient, highway-accessible chargers at locations designed with road trippers in mind. Each site includes premium travel amenities:

  • 350 kW fast-chargers capable of delivering power in as little as 15 minutes*
  • Plug and Charge compatibility for seamless use by supported EV models
  • Access to lounges, restaurants, grocery items, and pull-through stalls accommodating trailers

The trio aims to install up to 2,000 charging stalls at 500 locations, reinforcing long-distance EV travel infrastructure across the country.

These efforts are timely, as U.S. EV sales hit 1.3 million units in 2024, with Q4 sales up 15% over the prior year. GM’s own EV sales surged by 50% in the same quarter, reflecting the growing demand for robust and reliable charging access.

EVgo, already operating over 1,100 fast-charging stations across 40+ states, is now focused on building infrastructure that connects both urban and rural areas. User feedback via PlugShare highlights high satisfaction scores for this network, particularly for speed and convenience.

The expanding network underscores the ongoing shift toward electrified mobility and infrastructure, equipping U.S. highways with the support needed to make electric long-haul travel more mainstream and stress-free.
