Mountain Radiance, a physician-led medical spa, has been recognized as one of the Best Medical Spas in the state in The Guide to North Carolina's 2026 Best of North Carolina awards, a statewide program in which winners are determined by public vote.
The recognition places the practice among a small group of medical spas selected at the top tier of the Beauty and Spa category across North Carolina. The Guide to North Carolina conducts its Best of North Carolina program annually, inviting residents to nominate and vote for businesses in their communities, with the medical spa category drawing entries from across the state.
The honor follows three consecutive years of local recognition for the practice. Mountain Radiance was named the top medical spa in the Best of Asheville awards in 2023, 2024, and 2025, a streak that has now extended into recognition at the state level.
"To be recognized across the entire state, and not just in Asheville, means a great deal to everyone here," said Lauren Chandler, Practice Director at Mountain Radiance. "This award is voted on by the public, so it reflects the trust of the patients who walk through our doors and then take the time to speak up for us. We don't take that lightly."
Chandler said the recognition reflects an approach that has remained consistent as the practice has grown.
"We've never tried to be the biggest name in the room," Chandler said. "We've focused on doing right by each patient, one conversation at a time. Seeing that approach resonate with people across North Carolina tells us we're on the right path."
Chandler added that the practice has placed particular emphasis on the patient experience, from the initial consultation through follow-up care, and credited that focus for the loyalty reflected in the voting.
"People remember how they were treated, not just the result they got," Chandler said. "We want every visit to feel calm and unhurried, and we want patients to leave feeling heard."
The practice operates under direct physician oversight, with physician owner Dr. Mark Chandler onsite for treatments. He noted that the distinction reflects the practice's emphasis on medical standards in a field where oversight can vary.
"In a medical spa setting, the clinical side has to come first," said Dr. Mark Chandler, physician and medical director at Mountain Radiance. "Every treatment we offer is delivered under medical supervision, and that structure exists to protect patients and produce consistent, predictable results. Recognition like this suggests patients value that standard as much as we do."
Dr. Chandler added that the practice treats provider education as an ongoing requirement rather than a one-time credential. The clinical team regularly pursues continuing education through manufacturer-led training programs and industry conferences.
