Rocket Lab (RKLB) is preparing for another liftoff. The aerospace company has announced its 69th Electron mission, dubbed “The Harvest Goddess Thrives,” scheduled to launch on August 5 UTC from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand. This mission will carry QPS-SAR-12 into orbit for Japan-based Earth imaging firm iQPS.
This marks the fifth dedicated Electron launch for iQPS, reflecting the deepening partnership between the two companies. The satellite will join the growing QPS-SAR constellation in a 575 km circular orbit. The system provides high-resolution synthetic aperture radar imagery to clients worldwide, enabling critical monitoring capabilities across a variety of sectors.
Rocket Lab’s Electron vehicle continues to deliver consistent and responsive launch services, hitting a 100% mission success rate in 2025. This latest mission follows 4 earlier launches for iQPS and at least three additional missions are scheduled through 2026.
Electron remains the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket and the company’s reliable launch cadence bolsters Rocket Lab’s strategic positioning as a global leader in small satellite deployment. The company is concurrently progressing toward the debut of its reusable, medium-lift Neutron rocket, intended to serve larger constellation deployments.
