Silva Injury Law’s goal is simple: reduce the risk of drinking and driving by removing the barrier to getting home safely. The firm will reimburse qualifying Uber, Lyft, or cab rides taken during New Year’s Eve and into New Year’s Day in select California metro areas.
New Year’s celebrations should be remembered for fresh starts and shared moments, not for preventable tragedies on the road. Anyone who has been drinking is encouraged to make the responsible choice by taking a rideshare or cab home. Silva Injury Law will cover the cost so people can get home safely.
How the Free New Year’s Sober Rides Program Works
If you have been drinking on New Year’s Eve, take an Uber, Lyft, or cab to a safe destination. Then submit your receipt and photo ID to Silva Injury Law, and the firm will reimburse your ride.
Eligibility and Program Details (New Year’s Eve 2025)
To qualify for reimbursement, participants must meet the following requirements:
- Locations: Qualifying rides must take place within the Turlock, Merced, Modesto, or San Francisco metro areas in California.
- Eligible timeframe: Rides must be taken between 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
- Age requirement: Riders must be 21 years of age or older and legally permitted to consume alcohol.
- Ride limit: Valid for one one-way trip to a safe destination.
- Household limit: One reimbursement per household is permitted.
- Maximum reimbursement: Up to $25.00 total, including a tip of up to 10% of the base fare. Anything above a 10% tip on the base fare will not be reimbursed.
- Submission cap: The promotion is limited to the first 60 eligible submissions received.

Within 10 business days after your ride, mail a copy of your ride receipt and your photo ID to:
