SolarMax Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMXT) announced that its subsidiary, SolarMax Renewable Energy Provider, Inc., has signed an engineering, procurement, and construction agreement with Longfellow BESS I LLC to deliver a 430 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage project in Pecos County, Texas. The contract is valued at approximately $127.3 million, with SolarMax also acquiring an 8% ownership stake in the project.

Under the deal, SolarMax will oversee design, engineering, procurement, installation, construction, testing, startup, and commissioning of the utility-scale battery energy storage system and its high-voltage interconnection infrastructure. The project is scheduled for completion by June 30, 2026.

The installation is intended to enhance grid stability and energy affordability in Texas by storing renewable energy for use during periods of high demand, supporting the region’s clean energy transition.

“This milestone expands our presence in the U.S. market and demonstrates our strategy to move beyond residential solar into large-scale EPC services,” said David Hsu, CEO of SolarMax Technology. “With supplier agreements nearing finalization, we are confident in delivering on the mid-2026 timeline and are actively pursuing more large-scale clean energy projects nationwide.”

This project marks a significant step in SolarMax’s diversification strategy, positioning the company to meet growing demand for utility-scale renewable energy and storage solutions across the United States.
